Ways To Spend Quality Time With Your Partner When You Have Small Kids by Brittnay

It is no secret that once you become a parent quality time spent with your parent seems to diminish. It is so important to keep a healthy relationship that thrives. Exercise Together

You can create such a strong bond when you workout with your spouse. For those who are particularly busy you are creating time to workout and are with your partner all at the same time. You don’t have to just go the gym you could also play a sport together. Try sports where all you need it each other to play like a one on one game of basketball, tennis, or distance running.  The kids could easily be involved with exercise as well.

Plan A Night Out

With small kids in the house getting out can be very hard. Planning in advance is the key to making it work. Ask your spouse where they would want to go and book the babysitter prior to the outing. If you are rarely able to get a date night consider bigger outings spread out throughout the year. Splurge on those concert tickets, stay in that fancy hotel and take that trip to Vegas.
Whip Up Some New Dishes Together

Do you even get stuck in a rut of what food you cook or order in? Well, why not learn to cook some yummy dishes together? How about some pizza, it will be delicious and may save you on takeaway bills in the future.

So how do you get started? Have your homemade pizza dough ready – spread it out on a baking pan that has been properly floured – brush the pizza dough with some extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle on your smoked veggies as well as a moderate amount of your favourite low-fat cheese. (If you’re feeling a little fancy, feel free to mix some black pepper, garlic powder and some of your favourite spices in with your veggies beforehand!)

To really add some flavour to your pizza whip up some smoked veggies. Putting the veggies in a natural gas smoker will ensure you don’t have to load up on cheese or fatty meats to add flavour. Try using eggplant or mushroom as they hold a lot of flavour and texture.


At Home Massage

After the kids go to bed spice things up a bit. If you spend the majority of your time chasing after the kids you are probably really tense and in need of some relief.  Get some special oils and treat each other to a massage. If you have no idea how to give a good massage look it up on YouTube for simple instructions on the areas to focus on to guide your partner in relieving their stress.

In the long run, having a healthy relationship will be great for your spouse as well as your kids. The time you choose to spend with each other is what will keep your relationship strong throughout the years…
